Malicious Domain Blocked
The website at has been blocked from the Caltech network because it has been found to be harmful. It may be hosting malicious software or a "phishing" form. Phishing sites attempt to trick visitors into providing passwords or other sensitive information by imitating legitimate websites.
Avoid common scams
Phishing attempts have become increasingly prevelant and more targeted. Caltech IMSS is implementing new email security measures to counter these attacks. Help protect yourself by following safe browsing practices:
- Hover your mouse over links in emails and pay attention to the address bar in your web browser to make sure the links you visit are not imposters.
- More sophisticated phishing sites attempt to imitate Caltech or other login pages. If you're not sure, verify before entering passwords and other sensitive information.
- Scammers will use spoofed sender addresses and stolen accounts to send emails meant to look legitimate. Just because an email appears to be from a real @caltech.edu address does not mean it is legitimate.
- Use a unique password for every account you have. If a scammer steals one of your passwords, they are likely to try using it on your other accounts.
- If you suspect an email or website is a phishing attempt or otherwise malicious, email security@caltech.edu or call the help desk at x3500.
